Jim graduated
from the University of Saskatchewan in 1990 with bachelor degrees
in Physical Education and Physical Therapy. After graduating, Jim
moved back home to Vancouver to complete a Fellowship at the Allan
McGavin Sports Medicine Centre, and a masters degree in Sports
Medicine at UBC. His area of research examined sensory changes
in the knee following ACL injuries and reconstructive surgery.
He has worked at the New West Sports Medicine Centre since 1994.
Jim
has worked as the therapist for the Canadian Men's National Gymnastics Team
for four years, and has worked very closely with the
provincial gymnastics association since 1990. Being a previous National Gymnastics
Team member, he has a thorough understanding of the sport and its
demands on the athletes. Jim was the therapist for the Canadian
Men's National Field Hockey Team from 1991 to 1994. He has also worked with
Olympic and Professional level athletes in many sports including
Baseball, Curling, Football, Golf, Judo, Lacrosse, and Track & Field.
Recently, Jim has focused on treatment of shoulder injuries, and
has assisted in research studies in the area of Ankle, Knee and Elbow injuries.
